This means that Oaces shares the risk of product development with customers and works towards completing the project rather than just “billing engineering hours”. For new engagements, the first project always becomes a base to measure the benefits of the relationship and decide the future course of engagement. Once customers are satisfied based on the results of a couple of fixed price, need-based projects, they move into a strategic alliance. This way the customer gets the advantage of having the same people allotted for repeat projects. Thus, not only is productivity improved but the customer also accrues benefits in terms of reduced time and cost of product development.
